The TriFilm Society, in collaboration with The Frontier, is pleased to host a social for the film community. It will be held at The Frontier in the Research Triangle Park on Wednesday, March 25th, starting at 5:30 pm. It is free and open to the public, however, guests are required to register to attend.
This networking event is perfect for:
- Film and video production pros of all experience levels
- Clients or employers seeking talent for production needs
- Members of businesses or organizations that serve the industry
At the social we will talk about the TriFilm Society’s plans for 2015. There are a lot of things taking shape, and this is a great opportunity to ask questions or offer suggestions. We will introduce you to representatives of The Frontier so you can hear about the interesting things they’re working on.
Guests may register here to attend:
Follow the conversations.
Use the hashtag #TriFilm in your online conversations leading up to the social, during the event, and afterwards. This makes it possible for everyone can follow the conversations, which means you can meet new people — even if you didn’t shake hands at the social. We will select a few tweets and pictures to share in our recap, which helps you broaden your reach and grow your audience.
Why use the term ‘social’?
When we started organizing events for the film community in 2009, we wanted to invoke a certain atmosphere: calm, casual, and inspiring.
The words ‘networking’ and ‘meet up’ describe what happens at the event but don’t quite hit on the atmosphere we create. The word ‘social’ seemed ideal, though. We’ve been calling them socials ever since.
Six years later, these free events are still one of the best ways to unite the vibrant local film community. They offer the chance to socialize with like-minded people in an inviting and inspiring space. They are open to all of the passionate professionals who want to improve their craft and share their stories.
Why is this important? Film is a collaborative art and business.
When we find genuine connections, we can build trusting relationships. That trust makes it easier to collaborate. When we create high-quality films and videos together, we inspire and connect the community locally and globally. This helps us all succeed, as the “rising tide that lifts all boats.”
We believe a unified, collaborative community thrives. Hosting these socials is just one way in which we help facilitate it. We hope you’ll join us on Wednesday, March 25th to learn more!
