Who should attend?
TriFilm quarterly socials are a great way to stay connected.
Our socials are ideal for:
- Film and video production talent of all specialties, genres, and experience levels
- Clients seeking support with film and video production needs
- Film-relevant business leaders such as creative/production agencies, legal, music, talent agencies, graphics, catering, etc.
What makes a TriFilm social unique is the attitude of our attendees. Paid networking opportunities have a barrier to entry (aka: the cost of the ticket or membership), which helps attendees show up ready to make the most of their time.

What happens at a social?
Our socials are designed with you in mind.
You’ll receive a warm welcome, name tag, and raffle ticket when you arrive. Make your way to refreshments immediately, or find a TriFilm Society representative to help you get acquainted. Food and drinks are provided at quarterly socials.
Meeting new people can be tough, so we’re here to help. If you need introductions, resources, or additional information during the social ask a TriFilm representative for guidance. We’ll put you at ease.
Mid-way through the social we make a few announcements and draw for raffle prizes, but most of the evening is dedicated to great conversations about filmmaking.
What does it cost?
Tickets are $25 per person. Your ticket includes food, drinks, and an opportunity to win door prizes. There’s no additional tab to pay at the end of the event, which makes it easier for you to connect with people.
Members of the TriFilm Society attend for free. Members must have an active and paid in full account on the day of the social.
Not a member? You can join today. Membership is currently offered as a subscription of $20 per month. When you sign up, your account automatically renews each month. Register here to join now: trifilmsociety.com/monthly-membership-2017.
How do I register?
Advance registration is required. When the registration page is live we will share details via email, social media, and the blog.
Where are socials held?
We hold quarterly socials at different locations throughout North Carolina’s Triangle area.
Since the Triangle is a large, growing area we typically rotate through cities. This helps attendees find a convenient time and location, as well as a chance to step out of their comfort zone to discover something new. The area has a lot to offer, and we appreciate the chance to highlight new venues by hosting socials.
Socials are typically hosted in collaboration with businesses that have a vested interest in engaging with the film community. Since film and video making is a collaborative art/business, partnering with these organizations helps us lead by example.

What time does it start? How long does it last?
The socials typically begin in the evening (after work hours) and last about two hours.
Although it’s a floating event – meaning you may come or go at any time – we recommend coming early and staying for at least an hour, if not the entire time. This means you get plenty of food and drinks, a raffle ticket for door prizes, and enough time to linger in really great conversations.
We encourage you to get the most for your money by sticking around, but know that there’s no pressure to stay the whole time.
Is it OK to come alone?
You’re not the only one flying solo, attending for the first time, or feeling any level of social anxiety.
Networking can be really tough, even for the biggest social butterfly. We’re here to put you at ease. Please find a TriFilm Society representative to help make introductions and keep the conversations flowing.
Remember, you’re never alone. This is a place to feel connected, empowered, and supported – unlike any other film networking available in the area. We’ve got your back.
What do I wear?
Dress is casual but professional:
- Do wear something that makes you comfortable so you’re relaxed at the social.
- Do wear something that’s presentable and appropriate for meeting someone for the first time.
- Do look at what others have worn. Find us on Facebook and browse through our photo albums. You’ll see photos from previous events so you can peek at the crowd.
Should I use social media?
Use the hashtag #TriFilm to make it easy to follow the conversations.
Tweet about the event leading up to it. Post photos during the event. Follow up with people online afterwards. These are great ways to keep the conversation going after the social ends.
Social media can help you build a deep, long lasting relationship with people you meet at TriFilm Society events. How do we know? Social media has been an important part of the TrFilm Society from day one. We’ve fostered many relationships over the years. Plus, the organization was born out of a conversation online.
It’s a great way to build a relationship, broaden your reach, share your work, and stay connected.
How long has TriFilm been hosting socials?
We’ve been hosting socials since 2009 to build a stronger, more sustainable film community.
We’re using years of experience and insights to make significant improvements, evolve into an even more powerful network, and help more people like you succeed in the film industry.
Socials are a great way to connect with the area’s leading film talent in a casual, comfortable atmosphere for professional networking.
