A Good Pitch Local event will be held in Durham, N.C., this fall.
The Southern Documentary Fund (SDF) has partnered with BRITDOC, in collaboration with Working Films, to bring Good Pitch Local to Durham, N.C., this fall. Details such as times or locations of the event are unavailable at this time.
What is Good Pitch?
Good Pitch is a way to connect the community, specifically through documentary film.
“Good Pitch brings together documentary filmmakers with foundations, NGOs, campaigners, philanthropists, policymakers, brands and media around leading social and environmental issues – to forge coalitions and campaigns that are good for all these partners, good for the films and good for society,” according to the Good Pitch website.
Good Pitch Local is a pilot program that started in Miami, Fla., in June. The next stop in the pilot is Durham, N.C., this fall. Additional locations will be considered afterwards.
“The political landscape of 2017 presents us all with new challenges. It is time for Good Pitch to go local. We want to find and support local voices. We can connect local filmmakers with local funders, local organizers, local lawyers, local educators, local policy makers and local media to shape the short films and audience engagement strategies that can galvanize their communities. Let’s build bold, new collaborations based on shared values.
Where national politics has divided us, we believe that local stories can re-unite,” according to the Good Pitch Local document.
