The Cary Theater recently issued a call for films for a new Local Premiere Series.
“We love local filmmakers! We’re happy to announce that we’re launching a series to premiere local films at The Cary. You bring the film, audience, and experience of a local filmmaker to our space,” says the call for films.
The series will offer the theater space and technical support for free in order to premiere local films. The films must be shot in North Carolina, directed or produced by a North Carolina filmmaker, and have not yet been exhibited publicly in Cary, N.C., prior to the premiere. Priority is given to Triangle-area filmmakers. The films may be shorts or feature-length works.
The theater will host four premieres per year in May, February, August, and November. Filmmakers receive the use of The Cary Theater for free, support from a projectionist, space for a red carpet photo area, a 50/50 ticket share if you chose to charge admission, comp tickets (as mutually agreed upon by the theater and filmmaker), and promotional support through the theater’s regular channels.
